Dash Lynx, a division of ProvTech 8:12: In 2010, a group of Engineers sought out to develop a revolutionary new fuel controller for the 6.5L Turbo Diesel engine produced by GM for their mid 90's to early 2000's Truck lineup. The product idea came from one of our Engineers whom previously redesigned the PMD/FSD ( Pump Mounted Driver/Fuel Solenoid Driver) for the GM 6.5L for the consumer market and realized the vulnerabilities and reliability issues in the current designs. The PMD/FSD, produced by various Automotive OEM and Aftermarket companies, was known at the time as the Achilles heel of the 6.5L Diesel engine. These units were so unreliable that truck owners were known to keep extra PMD units in their glove box to "hot swap" them out when they would break. Being Automotive enthusiast ourselves, and watching hard working, truck owning Americans spend countless dollars on replacing these units only to have them break again, struck a chord in our hearts. The previous PMD/FSD design used outdated TO package, low performance transistors which also increased the complexity of the manufacturing and design of the units. The units had to be "sandwiched" together which caused massive failures in thermal performance as well as introducing assembly errors and relied on very expensive manufacturing tooling to assemble in high production level quantities. Our design utilized MOSFET transistors, digital microcontrollers replacing hundreds of analog components, modern current sensing devices, modern electronics and computer simulation tools to not only make the product cheaper to manufacture, cheaper to put into the consumers hands, but also extremely high performing and reliable. The 6.5L design was later produced by AM General for the HMMWV "Humvee" and our focus was shifted from consumer market to military. With a passion for the Electronics Industry, Automotive Industry, and mission critical systems, the Engineers got together and started something that would allow them to think more freely and not have political barriers of a large company; thus, ProvTech 8:12 was born.

ProvTech 8:12's continuous goal is to provide quality products utilizing as much work as possible in the USA. We are engineers by day, but hobbyists and craftsmen by night. We think back on the old days when you could buy an American-made product that could be passed down from generation to generation. In today's world, consumer products seem to be more so one-time use, disposable things. We would rather sell you one product that works than a cheap one that you have to keep buying every 12 months. From a business standpoint, it makes more sense to produce throwaway products, maximizing sales and profits; however, between our stakeholders a pact was made to make quality products and not sell out with mainstream disposable junk. After the COVID-19 events of 2020, we realized how reliant on overseas production we are as a nation. ProvTech 8:12 has started to procure our own manufacturing tools to make us less reliant on foreign countries, including SMT production, rapid prototyping, Injection Molding, and in-house development and design.
ProvTech 8:12 is a Christian owned and operated company. We donate large portions of our profits to the church communities that are working hard to serve the LORD Jesus and share the true, preserved, scriptural Gospel of Christ Crucified.

We were privileged to be part of the first ever Baltimore "Light City" light art show in 2016, designing a "Take To Ro" style Japanese Bamboo light sculpture working with local business, Boy Scouts, and the Kawasaki Sister City Committee. We designed a PCB housing 8 RGB LED's mounted inside of each bamboo piece so that they could all talk to each other. For the show a candle emulation was used, but the boards could do an array of colors and patterns. the complete product was made on a very tight time schedule, and countless hours and late nights were spent, hand soldering 4,000 J-lead package LEDs and thousands of other components. We try to stay active in our community and help out as much as possible.
